First for Home
The cod fishery on the Grand Banks off Newfoundland was still being worked under sail until well into the 20 th century.

This scene shows a clear evening on the Banks in 1927. While the other schooners are still gathering their dories, the Gloucester schooner ‘L A Dunton’, now with a full load of salt cod in her holds, is the first for home to try to get the best price at market.
