| This scene shows the working boat ‘Victory’ reaching in a freshening East-Northeast breeze off St Anthony’s Light.
Originally built in 1884 by Frank Hitchens as the ‘ Royal Oak’, she was purchased by the West family in the 1920’s and renamed after their previous boat. She underwent different rig changes until reverting back to gaff rig in 1956.
Since then, under the hand of Arthur ‘Toby’ West, has gone on to gain many racing trophies and a place in the hearts of Falmouthians as their favourite working boat.
